Directed by Vinayan — Vikram · Kaveri · Kavya Madhavan

This 2001 Tamil drama, directed by Vinayan and adapted from his earlier Malayalam feature, follows Kasi, a blind singer from a village in Tanjore district who earns a living through his music while caring for his troubled family. His life changes when a returning local dignitary arranges for a doctor to potentially restore his sight, setting off a chain of events involving his mute lover Kaveri, his sister Lakshmi, and a visiting couple whose true intentions are not as they appear. The story explores themes of hidden deception behind seemingly benevolent figures in the community.

Where to watch in USA

We checked the streaming catalogues and it isn’t on any service we cover — in any country, not just yours. Films leave and return, so this can change.

We check JioHotstar, Eros Now, Sun NXT, Prime Video, ZEE5 and 13 others. If it is streaming somewhere we don’t read, it won’t show up here — tell us and we’ll add it.
