Kartavyam (1990) is a Telugu political action drama centered on Vyjayanthi, a dedicated Assistant Superintendent of Police who takes a stand against a corrupt local leader and his son, whose actions have gone unchecked. Her efforts to enforce justice and confront their wrongdoing drive the film's central conflict. The story is loosely inspired by the real-life career of police officer Kiran Bedi.
