Kantri follows an orphan named Kranthi who works his way up in a crime lord's organization, gaining favor while quietly pursuing a hidden goal to bring down the boss's criminal network from within. Along the way he becomes romantically involved with a woman named Varalakshmi, while navigating shifting loyalties and rivalries among the gang's associates. The 2008 Telugu action comedy centers on this double life and the tangled relationships within the underworld setting.
