Vijayakanth

Set in a village, this 1999 Tamil drama centers on a landlord's family, with the elder son Vetrivel admired by locals and drawn to Gowri, a teacher's daughter newly returned from the city. When his younger brother Subramani also falls for Gowri, Vetrivel chooses to step aside for his sibling's sake, setting off a chain of family complications, buried secrets about his own parentage, and misunderstandings involving jealous neighbors and relatives seeking revenge. Vijayakanth plays both father and son in this story of familial sacrifice and loyalty.
