Tamil · 2000

Directed by Rama Narayanan — Prabhu Ganesan

This 2000 Tamil comedy, directed by Rama Narayanan and loosely inspired by the 1969 film Poova Thalaiya, centers on a wealthy, domineering mother named Parvathi and her three sons, who run a family restaurant in Chennai. Trouble brews when her sons marry women from a poorer background against her wishes, partly egged on by her estranged son-in-law, a barber she had once disowned along with her daughter. As Parvathi tries to manipulate her sons and daughters-in-law to break up their marriages, a scheme involving a household maid complicates her plans.
