Kaadu

Set in a Kannada village called Koppal, the story follows Kitti, a young boy sent from the city to live with his uncle Chandre Gowda and aunt Kamali. As Kitti bonds with Kamali and the surrounding woodlands, he becomes aware of his uncle's affair with a woman from a neighboring village, a situation that gradually escalates into a bitter rivalry between the two communities. Adapted from a novel by Srikrishna Alanahalli and directed by Girish Karnad, the film traces how personal betrayal and pride spiral into collective violence and outside intervention.
