This 1998 Hindi comedy follows Shankar, a struggling performer, who falls for Urmila, the daughter of a strict, old-fashioned retired police officer. To win the approval of her disapproving family, he resorts to spinning a string of falsehoods, setting off a chain of comic complications. The film marked director Hrishikesh Mukherjee's final directorial work, and features Anil Kapoor, Juhi Chawla, Amrish Puri, Reema Lagoo, Anupam Kher and Sajid Khan in the main roles.
