Jeevan Mrityu

This 1970 Hindi thriller follows Ashok Tandon, a bank manager whose romance with his longtime sweetheart Deepa is derailed when he is wrongly convicted of theft and imprisoned. Released years later to find his mother gone and Deepa married, he adopts a new identity as Bikram Singh with help from a benefactor and sets out to confront the former colleagues who framed him. The story, a remake of a Bengali film, was directed for Rajshri Productions and marked Raakhee's entry into Hindi cinema.
