Simran, an art director whose life mirrors the Bollywood romances she adores, seems to have it all with a devoted fiancé, until she meets Jay, an assistant to a filmmaker known for love stories who is himself dismissive of romance. As the two work together and grow close, their opposing views on love are tested, complicating Simran's existing relationship and Jay's own beliefs. Set between Mumbai and New Zealand, the story follows how their unlikely friendship reshapes both their outlooks on love.
