A struggling band musician with dreams of working with his favorite actress becomes entangled in a scheme when a local crime boss forces him to pose as the actress's boyfriend to convince the crime boss's suspicious wife that nothing improper is happening between them. As the pretend relationship develops, the musician and actress grow closer while others around them also become romantically interested.
