Set in a Godavari-side village in 1986, this Telugu drama follows newlyweds Malli and Chitra as they cling to survival during a catastrophic flood, and pass the time recounting painful chapters from their pasts. Malli's tale involves his struggles as a fisherman entangled with his employer's daughter, while Chitra recalls her upbringing with an adoptive family and a complicated bond with a childhood friend that is clouded by misunderstandings and hardship. Loosely inspired by B.V.S. Rama Rao's novel 'Godavari Kathalu,' the film blends romance and adversity against the backdrop of the river.
