Gowri centers on a young, orphaned mechanic from Hyderabad's Dhoolpet area who falls for Shweta, the daughter of a powerful media tycoon. Her father disapproves of the relationship and enlists a local crime boss to keep the couple apart, setting the stage for a conflict between the working-class hero and those trying to separate the lovers. The 2004 Telugu action drama was directed by B. V. Ramana and is a remake of the Tamil film Thirumalai.
