Two inept musicians, a would-be singer and a would-be drummer, are each banished from their home villages for their terrible performances. After meeting in a forest and fleeing a tiger, their impromptu music delights a band of ghosts, whose king rewards them with magical powers, including flawless musicianship and enchanted slippers that let them travel anywhere instantly. Taken on as court musicians in one kingdom, the pair set out to stop a neighboring, manipulated king from launching a war, but are caught before they can succeed.
