After his mother falls ill, a good-hearted worker named Raju leaves his shipyard job in Visakhapatnam and returns to Hyderabad to find new work. He ends up employed by a wealthy industrialist after saving him from an attack meant for the man's strong-willed daughter, Uma Devi, who now runs the family business. Raju's clashes with Uma Devi's domineering ways eventually lead to their marriage, while rivals of the family plot to undermine her company.
