Newlyweds Vikas and Aarti are attacked one night while walking home after a late movie, leaving Vikas beaten and Aarti gang-raped, an event that draws public and political attention. In the aftermath, Vikas struggles with guilt and helplessness while Aarti withdraws in trauma, and their marriage grows distant and strained as they try to cope with what happened.
