This Bhojpuri-language drama follows Ganga, an educated young woman from a small Indian village, whose life becomes entangled with Shankar, who is injured while helping her during a crisis. After she publicly rebukes a wealthy landowner's son, Ranjit, her family receives a marriage proposal from his father, but the wedding is thrown into turmoil when Ranjit wrongly accuses her of disloyalty. Ganga ultimately marries Shankar instead, and the couple then faces friction within his household from a hostile relative and a bitter Ranjit.
