This Hindi drama, directed by Tapan Sinha and based on a Ramapada Chowdhury story, follows a dedicated physician, played by Pankaj Kapur, who develops a breakthrough leprosy vaccine after years of research. Rather than being honored, he faces jealousy, official rebukes, and administrative obstruction from colleagues and health authorities, with his wife and a couple of loyal supporters standing by him. The narrative draws loosely on the real-life experiences of an Indian doctor who pioneered in vitro fertilization around the same era as similar work being done abroad.

Where to watch in USA

We checked the streaming catalogues and it isn’t on any service we cover — in any country, not just yours. Films leave and return, so this can change.

We check JioHotstar, Eros Now, Sun NXT, Prime Video, ZEE5 and 13 others. If it is streaming somewhere we don’t read, it won’t show up here — tell us and we’ll add it.
