A homeopathic doctor known for treating poor patients free of charge enters political elections at his wife's urging. When invited to a wedding, he pawns his scooter and borrows a neighbor's necklace to afford proper clothing and jewelry, but loses the borrowed ornament. His subsequent attempts to replace it lead to mounting financial troubles, including debts he unknowingly incurred through politicians' fraud. The doctor faces losing his home until help arrives from an unexpected source.
