Detective Ujjwalan

In the quiet village of Plachikkavu, a young library worker who moonlights as an amateur sleuth—despite being afraid of the dark—finds himself pulled into investigating a string of killings committed by a masked figure the press nicknames the Boogeyman. As a police special team takes charge of the case, the amateur detective's efforts to help create tension with the officer leading the inquiry, even as the community grows increasingly fearful. The Malayalam mystery-comedy is the second entry in the Weekend Cinematic Universe, following Minnal Murali, and was filmed across several towns in Palakkad district.
