A lawyer wrongly imprisoned for murder maintains a hidden identity as a gardener years later, while his estranged lover, now a prosecutor, struggles to keep their painful secret from their adopted son—who is actually the lawyer's biological child and has become a lawyer himself. When the lawyer is accused of another crime, his son unknowingly prosecutes him in court, forcing those who know the truth to choose between exposing their past and keeping a solemn promise.
