This 1993 Tamil romantic comedy follows Thangavel, a bus-stand porter who is humiliated while trying to arrange his own marriage. After crossing paths with a marriage broker who has also been insulted by a wealthy landowner, the two hatch a scheme in which Thangavel poses as a rich engineer from Singapore to infiltrate the landowner's household. His plan gets complicated when he genuinely falls for the landowner's elder daughter after a bullock-cart race, leading to a marriage built on deception that threatens to unravel as family members begin to suspect the truth.
