Set among Delhi University students, this 1981 Hindi romantic comedy follows three flatmates whose friendship is tested when two of them develop a crush on their new neighbour, only to learn that their quieter roommate has secretly begun a relationship with her. Feeling humiliated, the two friends conspire to turn him against her, setting off a chain of misunderstandings that threatens the couple's bond. Directed by Sai Paranjpye and adapted from her own television play, the film became known for its playful take on romantic film conventions of the era.
