Set in 1980s Maharashtra, this Marathi musical drama centers on Chandramukhi, a celebrated Tamasha performer, and her passionate romance with Daulat Rao Deshmane, an up-and-coming politician bound by an arranged marriage and family political ambitions. Their secret affair eventually becomes public, threatening to upend his career and family ties, while flashbacks reveal Chandramukhi's difficult rise from a theatre family after personal and financial tragedies. Adapted from Vishwas Patil's novel, the film blends romance and music with the tensions between personal desire and political duty.
