This 1995 Tamil romantic drama, directed by Nambirajan and marking Vanitha Vijayakumar's debut alongside Vijay, follows a young Brahmin woman named Chandralekha who falls for a Muslim man, Rahim, despite fierce objections from both their families. As their bond deepens amid family and community pressure, a jealous rival and her relatives scheme to keep the couple apart, pushing the lovers toward a desperate attempt to flee together. The film premiered around Diwali in October 1995 but had a modest theatrical run.
