Chalo follows Hari, a hot-headed young man sent by his exasperated parents to Tiruppuram, a border village long divided by a bitter feud between its Telugu and Tamil communities. There he falls for Karthika, a girl from the rival Tamil faction, and must navigate the rival gang leaders, a strict college principal, and long-standing local hostilities to win her family's approval. As he digs into the roots of the decades-old rivalry, he uncovers hidden history tied to the village's two founding leaders.
