This 1991 Telugu mythological drama traces the life of the sage Vishwamitra, from his transformation out of King Kaushika through his confrontations with sage Vasishta and the deities, and his testing of King Harishchandra's honesty. The story continues into his role guiding princes Rama and Lakshmana against demonic forces and toward Sita's marriage, before turning to his later years involving Menaka, Shakuntala, and Dushyanta. The film was directed and produced by N. T. Rama Rao, who also starred in it, alongside Nandamuri Balakrishna and Meenakshi Seshadri.
