This 1960 Kannada film tells the life story of Kanakadasa, a fort chieftain who undergoes a spiritual transformation after a divine encounter with Lord Krishna during battle. After experiencing miraculous healing and a legendary vision at the Udupi Sri Krishna Temple, he renounces his worldly life to become a devoted follower of Krishna, eventually composing influential devotional poetry and hymns.
