A village youth arrives in the city for college and falls in love with a spirited young woman, but her wealthy widowed stepfather disapproves, hoping to control her inheritance. When the stepfather enlists a corrupt police officer to frame and pursue the young man, the couple's romance is tested by escalating threats and danger. The 1995 Hindi film marked the acting debuts of its two lead performers.
