This 1998 Hindi masala film follows Jai Sharma, an upright police officer who believes local businessman Singhal is secretly running a criminal empire, though his police commissioner's interference keeps him from proving it. Tensions escalate when Singhal discovers his daughter Neha is romantically involved with Jai instead of the commissioner's son, whom he wants her to marry, prompting him to use his influence—including digging into damaging secrets about Jai's mother—to eliminate Jai. The film stars Akshay Kumar and Raveena Tandon, with support from Raakhee, Aruna Irani, Gulshan Grover, Mohnish Behl, Mohan Joshi, and Amrish Puri.
