When Kerala's newly elected Chief Minister KGR threatens the interests of a rival politician and a wealthy businessman, the pair conspire to have him assassinated by hiring a professional killer. A tip overheard by a journalist reaches an honest police officer, Perumal, who happens to be an old friend of the Chief Minister, setting off a race to track down the hitman before he can strike. The 1988 Malayalam thriller draws loose inspiration from Frederick Forsyth's novel The Day of the Jackal.
