Athiran is a 2019 Malayalam-language psychological thriller centered on a secluded psychiatric facility, where a young woman named Nithya has been kept hidden ever since a violent tragedy in her childhood left her family dead and her branded as unstable. Years later, a visiting psychiatrist grows wary of the asylum head's practices and starts digging into the institution's secrets, drawing closer to Nithya as he tries to uncover the truth behind her confinement.
