Arangetra Velai

This 1990 Tamil comedy, directed by Fazil and starring Prabhu and Revathi, follows an unemployed man named Sivaraman who travels to Chennai to reclaim a job he was long ago denied, only to find the position held by a woman hiding a difficult family situation. He ends up lodging with two other struggling characters, a theatre owner and a woman who fabricates a glamorous life to please her mother, and the three form an unlikely bond over their shared hardships. Their situation grows more complicated when a late-night phone call about a kidnapping draws them into a risky scheme involving a ransom and mistaken identities.
