This 1991 Telugu comedy drama, directed by Vamsy and based on the novel Harischandrudu Abaddhamaadithe, follows Diwakaram, a videographer who falls for Bhuvaneswari, an independent railway clerk who insists on marrying an honest man. To win her over, he opens a video rental shop funded through various schemes and deceptions targeting his eccentric neighbors in a railway colony, all while trying to appear respectable enough to earn her family's approval. When Bhuvaneswari challenges him to go without telling a single lie until April 1st as a condition for marriage, his attempts to keep this vow expose long-hidden secrets and tensions among the people around him.
