In this 2004 Tamil action comedy directed by K. S. Ravikumar, a jobless young man named Mani is hired by a worried Brahmin landlord in Chennai to pose as a feared gangster in order to scare off a group of unruly student tenants living in his house. As Mani, aided by an auto-rickshaw driver friend, settles into the household, he befriends the landlord's daughter and the mischievous tenants, leading to comic misunderstandings about romance and identity while he secretly tries to sort out his own family and financial troubles.
