Aay is a 2024 Telugu romantic comedy directed by Anji K. Maniputhra, centered on Karthik, a Hyderabad-based software engineer who returns to his native village during the pandemic and reconnects with childhood friends while nursing long-held resentment toward his ailing father. He falls for Pallavi, a politician's daughter from a different caste, and their bond is complicated by her family's expectations and an impending arranged marriage. As Karthik's friends scheme to remove obstacles to the romance, the story explores caste barriers, friendship, and unresolved tension between Karthik and his father.
